Summary

Growing up with eccentric materialist parents who left him in the care of his grandfather for a job overseas, Zhang Heng had learned to adapt and be unfettered by the oddities and challenges in life. But he would soon learn the baffling truth about the world he thought he knew when one day at midnight time froze and he found himself in a world so quiet and still it was deafening. That night, he discovered that he had 24 hours more than everybody else and thus, marked the beginning of his adventures. The mysteries surrounding his newfound ability only deepened when a strange old man claimed to have given Zhang Heng that ‘gift of time’ and recruited the young man to participate in a cryptic ‘life-changing’ game on his behalf. Little did Zhang Heng know that accepting those terms meant embroiling himself in many versions of reality and exposing himself to the hidden secrets of the world—a decision he could never undo.

Aside from the translation going to sh*t on chapters around 1000~onward, everything is fine. The ending was unexpected, but was incredibly fitting. Love how it ended. Another thing I want to note on, is how the Mc's progression of emotions were displayed. I wish the author could have made more detail on it, rather than just doing a tell-and-tell on it.

This Novel is 8/10 it has very interesting and has very new things i would say its not very beginner friendly i would not recommend it for someone who has just started reading novels it's more for people who are bored of the same novel plots and want something new to read . World building : The world building in this story is very well put together and it gives a feeling of the world moving forward. Cheat : The cheat ability is very well done not too overpowered but not to weak and has a very good explanation to it Girls/Romance: Zero to none romance .some of the girls i like but sometimes it can get annoying ending : the ending is excellent and unexpected . its not rushed like other chinise novels

My review of the novel 8/10 it's good but it could be better, the translation starts "decent" but gets soooo d*mn bad at the 800 chapter mark or so, also as of the characters, most of them are cool, i may have my favorites but it's even the ones that were weaker were fine, but the female characters man, all them fall in love with the mc, it's incredibly annoying, like some of them are fine, and i get it, but ALL OF THEM???!! I don't get it, still, if that doesn't annoy you a lot i recommend you read the novel, it's pretty good, specially the begging and middle part, so that's that, hope you all enjoy this story 👍

This negative comments in the novel regarding all the females in the different arcs do not make sense. The women do not show any of those classic troupes and are strong, independent & most importantly smart. The MC is relatively good looking, strong and mysterious which is attractive. Just because he hooks up with different women in different arcs doesn't make it wrong, you old time conservative boomers. He spends roughly 20 years of his adult life in the arcs and hooks up with 5 or so women. That's slow even by real life standards. And even then the parts are well written and add to the character without messing with the storyline. There was no fan service, it's just how normal adults behave. The single MCs with grand ambitions and 'I won't let women distract me' attitude is the actual fan service considering the authors know their readers are single af. I mean it's the same as Andrew Tate giving troupes to women and telling men to just earn money & women will come running. Grow tf up

The problem is its all women. No one is complaining that the female characters themselves are bad( Though some are lackluster). No, people are complaining that all important character in each arc apart from like the detective arc are women. With men either being background noise or the bad guys in pretty much every situation. Also, we all know the mc is well.. cool but the fact that every single one of these women wanna F him is crazy like come on. It's actually immersion shattering at certain points because as soon as a new female character that seems important is introduced, everyone already knows how it's gonna play out.

Would you say the same if all of those women were men? No, right? Because that's the norm in most novels & other entertainment forms. 2 guys creating a bromance and doing sh*t together- Naruto Sasuke, Goku Vegeta, Asta Yuno, Zoro Sanji, light yagami and ryuk, Timon and pumba etc etc (I can't remember others). Other popular anime- full metal Alchemist, jojo, hunterxhunter, haikyu heck take Hollywood and you'll find more similar examples. Such presence just makes it easier to accept when you see it again and tougher to accept when you see something unexpected. This is just slightly different. That's all. It's the time perception of 20 years of life being read in a span of few days which is actually messing with the immersion and I feel could have been written in a more detailed and fleshed out manner. The women themselves being important characters are not the problem. And it's completely normal to hook up with an attractive person, for both sexes, if you spend a lot of time together.

If all those women were men then people would still dislike them as they would be the main vocal point for the mc in the story at every point. Bad writing doesn't become suddenly good because it switched genders. In addition, all of those examples have interesting female characters who people love, are usually centered around a group of some kind and have well written side characters even if their guys. Our mc for the most part is a loner and hasn't really had a female character he's just chill friends with and MOST of the girls especially when we first meet them come of as somewhat annoying. More so because we know how things play out between the mc and them with him saving them when their in trouble. Once again, people aren't hating because there's women in it, people are hating because its all subpar written women with the guys relegated as background noise or villains in MOST situations.

Bro no. Read the comments. Just the fact that there are multiple female characters is enough for quite a few people to hate on this novel. I'm not even commenting on the quality of the characters, just their presence which is drawing so much flak in the comments. I agree with the fact that the female characters are quite unidimensional and lack depth but they add to the plot and character building of the MC, atleast in the first half. They add depth to the MC's character is what I'm saying.

I'm in chapter 950+... I don't know if I'm stupid, but I still couldn't get Zhang Heng's identity yet. There were so many clues, like they said he appeared in many movies, comics & games, like dota, bloodborne , marvels, DC... but I still have no clueee!! I haven't played bloodborne, but I do know the others and I still couldn't get it... Is he perhaps a demon? Lucifer? Satan? Hades? No, they don't have connection w/ the water... Poseidon? I need answersssss!

Great novel! Would rank it as one of the top of my list. For those who felt that it was written by different authors, I have a different belief. Putting aside the epilogues which seem to be fan fiction the author added in, the last arc is what makes me feel that it is meant to be that way due to the evolution of his storytelling. All in all, how the author ties different genres together using the dungeon system is really great.
