A Will Eternal (Web Novel)

As my first Er Gen novel I must say this was one of my favorite cultivator novels I’ve read. I’m going to cultivate the rest of his novels from here just because I have high hopes of Master Er Gen’s inheritance.

Fun and light, I recommend it. It has a lot of comedy, slow romance and adventure. Of course, don't expect much logic when the focus is comedy, Just enjoy the story.

I have yet to finish it, only on chapter 500. I can confidently say this is the best thing I have ever read. Love the characters, comedy, battles, world building, as well as the pace.

1 Main character from chapter 0 to 464 changes in no way. He's a immature brat that acts like a 13 year old would. 2 The author repeates the same tropes constantly which would drive any sane person into madness 3 The sidecharacters are completely unintresting except for maybe 2 and even they get no character development.

This book just st hit all the wrong buttons for me. Dumb MC. The same sort of 'tragic love story's from Renegade Immortal with the FML dying. Too many pointless chapters with long drawn out battles. I skipped to the end and like all Er Gen books I've read the ending fell totally flat. This is the last Er Gen novel I'm going to read. It's just too much of the same thing over and over again.

This is a decent novel with a main character who is afraid of death, you can see that the author can write novels in this genre. I recommend this novel, give it a try and see if the humor is for you, if so, you will like the whole story.

I finished this novel a few months ago but forgot to leave a review. Overall, it's a decent read and stands out a bit compared to the usual classics in this genre. The main character's fear of death adds a unique twist, though I found it a bit overused at times. Still, it's not a dealbreaker. The real highlight is the side characters—many of them are refreshing, and the plot is solid. Just a heads up, it's a harem, though it's not central to the story. In fact, it adds some humor, especially toward the end. All in all, it's an enjoyable read, and I'd recommend it.

Overall a nice novel, altought it has its shortcoming. What makes this story stand out from all those cultivation novels is that the MC is almost the opposite of the typical cultivation MC. His goal is simply to live, and for a long time at that. He is shameless and would avoid danger or confrontation if it's not necessary, while also shows the ruthless MC cliché if needed. We have annoying heirs and talent from sects, but usually MC chooses to get back at them in a way where nobody dies. On the other hand, what lovers the novel is the way relationships are made. As a reader if we only look at what we read then almost all the connections the MC has been shallow and only have moments of depth after the Author already declared that they are close. The best example is the Uncle of the MC whom he says is like a father to him, but only later we have seen the Uncle actually do anything close to even call him a close acquaintance.

It ain't perfect but I enjoyed it a lot. There are funny moments, epic moments, and sad moments. The MC is very sociable and cares deeply for his friends but also completely shameless and selfish at times. Very down to earth guy, never have I thought him to be too cool or edgy. His flaws make him more likeable. Probably my favorite MC in all Chinese novels that I've read.
