i actually love this novel from the FMC to the beast companions everything is top tier the FMC doesn't rely on her powers and progress at a nice pace overall amazing novel

This is an amazing novel that’s well translated (outside of a few chapters where the names suddenly change) The FMC has her morals and sticks to them and her personality is good to read. Not to mention that it has others things going on between the battles and the personalities of the side characters and pet beasts are well developed too therefore it doesn’t get boring having repeated battles. So far it isn’t the sort of story where the FMC scraps her ideals for a half written romance like many stories tend to do and the fact that there isn’t any romance at all is better. I sincerely hope it stays this way.

Although there are some inconsistencies in translation, the story still has me addicted to it. The premise is good and the main character is funny. Her pet beasts are so adorable and their interactions with each other are super entertaining to read. Looking forward for more!

The best FMC I have read, ever. From the start, I've been hooked on this book. The comedic undertone, the relationship with her pets, Xiao Xunbao antics lmao, everything is really great. If you're thinking about reading this then you should go right ahead. And it's not exactly like other books in beastmaster genre. It's not just about when is the next evolution for the pets and how strong is the pet and the master, there are elements of life in it and her interactions with side characters. Great book imo, currently my favorite ongoing novel.

Perfect for a turn your brain off and just read session. It's a light read that's heavily inspired by pokemon and I think that it delivers it self perfectly for what it aims to be, and besides I'm a s*ck*r for evolution/beast power scaling systems ⊂(・▽・⊂)

It's good, but nothing special. As many people said, it's a novel with plenty of Pokémon influence in it's ideas and the MC plot armor is borderline insane with how everything just goes her way. The plots themselves are kind of rinse and repeat, but it's nowhere near as exasperating as most other novels because they're not dragged on for too long, and the writing/translation helps a lot by keeping stuff rather simple instead of going on a tangent about philosophy or overly complicated plot lines that don't fit the genre, which is why I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 3. That being said, it's good for the occasional light reading, almost like the perfect novel to be used as a placeholder while you wait for your other novels to catch up or be updated. As for binging material, not a great idea, if you ask me. You'll probably grow tired of it very quickly if you try to do so.

I have read many 'Beast Taming' stories but I think this must be one of the best (I have read more than 1000 chapters) and let me tell you why: the beasts. In most novels although beasts are said to have "great intelligence" it looks like they have no identity, they don't have own wishes nor interact much with each other; They don't leave much presence. I don't like that, and that's why I love this novel: each Qiao Sang's (MC) beast is unique and relevant. Author tells their stories, their reasons to be with MC and to become stronger, they have special personalities and are always interacting with each other: they have a identity. On the other hand, I believe that the simple and light style of this novel, without much drama or difficulties, gives it a unique touch, although it may not be for everyone's taste. The MC is also great, and although sometimes I can have complaints about her, I keep believing that she's an incredible protagonist. Anyway, this novel is a 9, 5/10 or a 10/10 for me !! (Sorry for the bad English)

Reached chapter 285 and I'm dropping it. It is decent slice of life pokemon type battle with lovely pets. Unfortunately, that is where good parts end. MC is insufferable walking cheat code that goes around without any working brain cell. Plot is based mostly on the waaay too convenient plot and misunderstandings based on characters not talking with one another or MC being too dumb to literally check her cheat code that is in her brain. Chapter 1-285 is above the length of the first Harry Potter by word count, however I can summarise what happened in two sentences. That is how pretty much nothing happened. I kept reading in hope that 4. 5 rating (at the moment I started reading) will be justified, but was horribly disappointed.

Just a regular female MC in a Chinese Pokemon sci-fi world who is not drop dead gorgeous or sexualised. Writing and translation is straightforward and clean: only a handful of minor grammatical erros detected so far (Chapter 460). This novel is one of the few that passes the Bechdel test while not having any romance at all. The MC rarely encounters danger to her life, but even without the danger, the action of the pet battle competition matches are described so well that I'm holding my breath sometimes! There's also regular doses of comedic dialogues and adorable pet antics. It's a feel good, Sunday afternoon read that will have you forgetting your worries and smiling and cheering for MC and her fluffy crew of misfits.

Things may not always be logically correct but this story is good for the heart. You feel satisfied reading this instead of something in which the mc is running away from danger all the time
