    Early chapters was fine But after that revenge arc(book6) everything got stupid and plot became unbearable for me and i don't get along with dumb and childish mcs Thus i droped it at ch165

      No she isn't op from the beginning, been like 15 years since I read it but I remember she just belonged to a better family. Mc was always the most talented one among his peers. Female lead would have been left in the dust if she wasn't mixed with mc. Only good thing is that she isn't sidelined the author seems to be a rare one in china who respects women and other cultures. So none of his mcs go for more than one wife. Romance is also decent considering this novel is extremely old now.

    I'm currently at Volume/Book 18, and I gotta say that the tags saying "Genius Protagonis"', "Calm Protagonist ", and "Cautious Protagonist" feels like a big fat lie. • I would say that the 'Genius' part is only relating to his speed of training. Oh but the "Lucky Protagonist" tag? That one gotta be the most relevant tag here lol. More than half the time he really is just lucky to survive or have his issues solved for him. Sigh • I say this novel is a fun read if you actively turn your brain off and enjoy the ride. Don't be like me. I get too stuck on the details due to my experience with other novels. This is just my honest review to you all.

      It was one of the novels that popularized xianxia novels. It has the OG status. It was also my first read and what made me hooked to this type of cultivation story. People highly rate this novel purely based on nostalgia, myself included. I've read it 3 times already.

      Not to be rude but like i see some people like this that basically say the world building is trash etc or its alot of junkfood they say this on ALLLLLLL Novels so im kinda confused which are good and which are bad because everyone in the comment sections never says nice things about any novel.

        It's best to take multiple reviews into consideration when deciding. But I believe the best method is to just jump in and read a couple chapters to decide whether you like it or not. You're not reading for others, the experience is entirely your own. Just make sure it's an experience you can see yourself enjoying regardless of what others think about it. And hey, if it turns out to be sh*t, there's nothing stopping you from dropping it once the quality drops too far for you.

        The secret is like for instance there is 2 long paragraphs of fillers fast read it in like 2 seconds if it’s important read it as you like if not just skip it with while skimming. I mean I read novels for the sudden adrenaline and feeling I get when characters go through a sudden major power up or get stronger so it boring to read fillers for me but it might not be the case for other people so if you enjoy reading fillers then read the whole novel but personally I dont which is why I read fast
