It stands among LOTM and MHoH for me personally. It's good read. You can head into it without any consideration and you'll still be satisfied by the book. For few those might be picky: No Harem No Romance. Only Captain Duncan and Endless Sea for adventure.

I am glad that this review will be the 50th review for this novella. Because many readers will have a chance to read this very interesting and well-written novel. The characters are interesting, the world is strange full of mysteries, but in time the mysteries are mostly well solved. Recommended for me such 9. 5/10

If LOTM is a 10, then this story is a 9. 5, its just as good as LOTM my only gripe is that its not as long, would have loved to keep watching the characters and the world for a bit longer.

Very good. Writing is a little flowery sometimes so I ended up skimming some parts but still very good. Ending was great and felt like a well done conclusion

I just finished reading the novel (except for the mtl chapter) and it was amazing. The early segments of the story are a bit rough and all over the place but they do an amazing job of setting up this world and getting you interested in it. There are very clearly plot threads that were dropped and left to the wayside in favor of the story of the apocalypse, namely the subspace stuff wasn't ever fully addressed. But this is all easily made up for by just how good the character writing is and the world that is built up in each and every chapter. The final stretch of the series and the vanished's journey beyond the veil is just so perfect. In the final 3 or 4 chapters of the series I was struggling to hold back tears just due to it all. Nina and Shirley's end had me full out crying as with alice. Its just a d*mn shame that the epilogue is MTL rather than being translated the same as the rest of the series. Regardless, it's an amazing series that I'd heavily recommend to anyone who is a fan of mystery novels. 10/10

Finally finished and I got to say, this is one of my favorite novels now The first few hundred chapters seemed all over the place and I couldn't tell where it was going but it was intriguing and mysterious enough to continue onwards And then we hit chapter 557, currently one of my favorite chapters ever. The quality explodes through the roof and the rest of the novel, although in my opinion, doesn't fully reach the standalone greatness of it, still gets pretty d*mn close. The apocalypse theme in the later half of the book was so well executed and the final 150 chapters were all insane

Genuinely really impressed - read up to chapter 750 (i'm now stacking) and all i can say is, READ IT. It's amazing, it's really well written, plot stays alive & intriguing throughout. My favourite part, other than the plot, has to be the characters, Alice especially, the author does a great job in balancing the seriousness of the plot, and the innocence of some characters - great poignant moments at times, and so well written.

Great mystery novel. Concept and execution of cognition corruption are simply brilliant. For those who may be hesitant: you need to get through the first few chapters- much like in Lord of the Mysteries (perhaps even a bit more) to reach the interesting parts. At times, there's a bit too much silly humor, but overall, the novel deserves to be read more than most others available on the site. rating: 4. 5

If you ignored the horrifying details, this is just a slice of life and mystery novel with a pinch of adventure sprinkled in. Which it does a extremely good job in. Overall, a must read if you are greedy for good mystery novels.

This is actually so funny, I’m at chapter731 and it’s f*ck*ng insane The world building is a 10/10 The mystery is a 10/10 The horror also just gets even better later on

This novel is so scared about being to similar to LoTM that it's strips out everything unique about it then proceeds to leave those places void. 200 chapters in with a half baked worship-or-nothing power system with little in between. The world building is decent with an interesting "beginning" and the island locations aren't left dull and lifeless. The writing is a little cryptic with words and phrases being throw around without really explaining the depth behind them (it's like when a movie is all about 'quantum this and quantum that' and you're sat there wondering wtf quantum means). The translation is bad but not unreadable; it feels especially lazy in descriptions saying things like blood and flesh repeatedly, it reads like a 13 year old's eldrich horror notepad. The characters are definitely the best part about this novel. It boils down to an ok time killer and not much more.

bro is missing out im at chap 613 and its so crazy good after the frost arc its nothing like LOTM, The only think similar is the protagonist's real name ill give it for now a 9/10 there are alot of deus ex machina moments, They are very annoying due to the mystery of the mc's powers, Like at chap 613 we still know nothing But the worldbuilding is some of the most unqiue i have seen ever i terms of uniquesnesses it dwarfs LOTM and like everything else

u gotta read more, everything u say is literally foreshadowing to something bigger...
Same for me, chapter 557 is literally the definition of peak. Like g*dd*mn, this book is good, and while it's certainly not at the level of the best yet, that single chapter will forever stay in my memory. "We are marching toward the apocalypse."
