Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe
Chapter 729: Beyond Comprehension

Hearing the young dragon's words, the two Agents from the Brotherhood couldn't believe it. They didn't even know how to react to such a wild statement.

Yet, knowing how Adam was, it wasn't completely out of the question that we would be advancing to the Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Rank!

But at the same time, they found this extremely shocking. Becasue as far as they knew, Adam was not even thirty five years of age!

How could someone in their mid-thirties become a Mana Vortex Magus?! It was completely unheard of, to say the least.

Liriel hurriedly walked to Valerian's side and grabbed him by the arms, bringing him close to her face. "Valerian, is that the truth?!"

"Myu!" The young dragon was taken aback by the woman's sudden reaction. He leaned back, trying to get away from Liriel. "Put me down! I am the great Valerian! How dare you!"

"Valerian, answer me!" Liriel pressed. This was completely unlike her usual demeanor. The fact that Adam was making an advancement to Rank 3 was completely out of her plans.

If this was really the case then they would have to greatly alter their plans. Moreover, their chances of succeeding would also significantly increase. Although there would be some unexpected risks, it would be worth it!

Seeing the seriousness in the silver-haired woman's eyes, Valerian relented. "Yes, Brother is advancing to the Mana Vortex Rank. I suppose it should take him a few days."

"A few days?!" This time it was Kael. "How can the advancement to Rank 3 be so easy that one can complete it within a few days? At the very least, the advancement should take him several months!"

Valerian turned to look at the man and spoke in a bored manner, "Brother was already ready to advance several months ago. He had sealed his mana channels and stopped practicing mindfulness. Now, he's just continuing where he left off."

"…Several months ago?" Kael spoke in a daze.

Valerian nodded, his lips curling into a smug. "Hmph! My brother is the most talented Magus in this world! Of course, you cannot comprehend him through ordinary means!"

Liriel set down the chubby cat on the table. "Through ordinary means," she murmured.

She then looked at Kael and asked in a daze, "Did Adam not become a Mana Liquefaction Magus at the age of twenty?"

Kael nodded. "He also took down the Rank 3 Werewolf in Stratford, and most recently, the Rank 3 Cultist in Ravenfell… And he was still a Rank 2 Mana Liquefaction Magus…"

Valerian's lips curled up into a cocky smirk, "Now you understand my brother's greatness! Kakaka, no, I must correct myself. No one can understand my brother's greatness, except for me, the great Valerian!"

Both Liriel and Kael gazed at the chubby cat with awkward looks. It was very strange to see a round and furry cat repeatedly calling himself 'great.'

"Anyways." Valerian returned to his usual lazy demeanor, lying down on the table as his tail swayed around gently. "Brother has instructed me to help you, although I would prefer not to be bothered. Hmph!"

Liriel and Kael showed strange expressions on their faces. They were not really expecting a cat to help them deal with the Umbra Thieves.

They quickly studied the map once again. Liriel's eyes flashed with brilliance as she placed several flags on certain locations through the map of Blackshore.

"These three places," she murmured. "With the help of those father and son merchants, Dean and Colbert Black, we can create some scuffles here."

Kael nodded solemnly. "We can expect these skirmishes to blow out of proportions very quickly considering the rumors we've been spreading in the past few weeks."

In the past three weeks, the two had spread several rumors that stated that the current Rank 2 Magi who were sitting on the loose council were planning to deal with the other Rank 2 Magi who were hoping to politically fight them for their seat on the council.

Thanks to Dean and Colbert Black's deep connections in the mercantile industry in Blackshore, the rumors spread fast from one trader to another, from one hawker to another.

Of course, this also meant that when the plot was inevitably uncovered, the Black Mercantile Company would be the first one to go down. But this too was part of the plan.

"This week," said Liriel. "We must set everything in motion in the next few days before Adam advances, or exactly around the time he advances."

"It will be difficult to pinpoint the exact timing," said Kael. He thought for a moment before deciding, "Two days. In two days we will make our move."

He looked at Liriel and solemnly stated, "The disguise has been prepared, yes?"

Liriel nodded.

"Good. I'll be the one to enter the skirmish," he said. "Once I've managed to draw enough attention, you can make your move on Blackshore's fleet. But you must be very careful. You will be on your own!"

"But so will you! It's too dangerous for you to go alone!" Liriel protested.

"We have no other choice." Kael shook his head. "We are one man less, and we cannot disturb Adam while he's in the midst of advacning. He's the most crucial member of our team. And so, I must be the one to spark the civil war."

Liriel hesitated greatly, her lips opening and closing several times as if she wanted to protest. However, she knew that in their line of work, there was no room for personal feelings. The mission always came first!

"What's this about Blackshore's fleet?" Valerian asked suddenly.

Liriel looked at the seemingly harmless chubby cat and stated in passing, "We are going to burn their ships and sink them into the depths of the Galestine Ocean."

While the whole of Blackshore was under the impression that the armed forces of Ravenfell would attack them on land, the truth was far from it.

This was the reason why the armed forces of Ravenfell were taking so much more time to reach Blackshore.

Once Liriel and Kael took care of Blackshore's fleet, nothing stopped the armed forces of Ravenfell from burning the city to the ground.

"If its just burning the ships, I can do it," Valerian said nonchalantly, still licking his paw in a graceful manner.

"…How?" Liriel didn't believe a cat could do something like that.

"Heh," Valerian let out a chuckle filled with smugness.

The next moment, he jumped off the table, and while he was in the air, transformed into a towering winged panther!

Under the stunned gazes of the couple, he spread his black-feathered wings wide, gazing at Liriel with a haughty look in his eyes.

"Because… I can fly."
