The battle scenes are starting to be written very badly and stupidly. It's like a light show decorated with exaggerated dialogues and emotional explosions. The author of this novel is really disappointing. I hope someone tries to write a higher quality version of this novel.
I would love for someone to handle this novel in a better way, like the author's point of view novel. The characters and the plot of the novel are very interesting, but the author's writing skills have turned into an absurd disgrace. I really liked this novel when I first read it, but then the author messed everything up to a terrible point. Imagine eating a delicious meal and a hair popping out of it, which is exactly how this novel develops.
It's honestly really good for a while. I would say it really drops off when a bunch if gods start popping up, as it feels like the story dropped a ton of plot points that had been built up to. Like the female leads half sister learning about how corrupt her country and the world's society is, there were hints that she was understanding. And then she is killed by the female lead and it goes no where. Then there the MC and his mother, I get that it's going to be solved at some point, but the MC has been given all the information and chances to figure out the entire truth for hundreds of chapters and he just ignores it and acts like a child about it.
Dropped this 2 years ago don't even know where I stopped or how the story goes anymore but I can say one thing—it's a great novel, so I'm starting it all over again... See you all later fellow daoists...

Man I really enjoyed reading the first 300-400 chaps. But later it all just went to sh*t. It had so much potential. All I can say is that after those few hundred chapters it stops being badass. It's just sad to see such good story with so much potential in the beginning go to waste.
