Martial World (Web Novel)

I was entertained enough to look over the bad writing, but in terms of cultivation writing it actually is decent. Ending was absolutely horrendous, some arcs were essentially filler, author gave up on trying to give Lin Ming meaningful power ups, and the harem is terrible. If not for the atrocious “ending” and final arc I would’ve given it a 5, but alas.

At first, the story was very interesting. The author kept explaining everything in detail which was quite good at the beginning. Afterwards, it became generic Chinese face-slapping novel. I used to read the worst face-slapping one or two before. So I could tolerate it. However the author developed another bad (maybe the worst) trait which I called "Breaking Climax. " For example, MC fished out his spear. This spear he got it from bla bla bla. . . for half a chapter. The climax feeling died down. 😑 The author also explained nobody's background for half chapter, then this guy was defeated at the end of that chapter, never appeared again.

Although the story is very much. . . clique, it is nicely written, the main plot, pacing and different easter eggs are well placed. Moreover things always make sense and appear sensible. Nice one

It is the most generic Chinese cultivation story. MC has villian in one area, gets strong through plot armour, beats them, goes to a new area. Repeat for 2000 chapters. The side characters only exist to benefit the MC, and are forgotten and never mentioned again. Even the Mc's early wives become irrelevant and are rarely mentioned. The story is full of plot holes with the author forgetting about earlier concepts or items he mentioned in earlier chapters. MC is pretty dumb and a generic "righteous" hero. Also, the harem is written poorly and contributes nothing to the plot. Despite all its shortcomings, I still enjoyed the majority of it, until the last arc, with the story being so rushed and awful that I couldn't bear to read anymore. If you enjoy generic cultivation novels, you can give it a read, but I am sure there are better novels with actual good endings.

I really enjoyed this one. Like all cultivation novels I have a few complaints, mostly around the romances and the rushed ending. But overall I think it was well done, interesting and a good read.

the Martial World story really took us on a beautiful journey. I would recommend it all the way. it may not the thickest plot armour but it's weaved beautifully. just start reading.

Its a good one and I really mean it. Ofc it has some cliches here and there but the journey of Lin Ming is very good and captivating. Most importantly it has one of the best chapters I've read in a novel( between 1929. 1 and 1942). And I'm writing this 5 months after finishing the novel thanks to the song that I listened while ive read those chapters( finding myself is translation of the song's name and it explains itself i guess). When I listen it today it remind me of this novel and here i am writing some review.

I am giving it a three only because they have hyped it too much. The story line is good. Development is also good. But its good for newbies. For the old timers its the same old xanxia novel which goes from lower to higher world and faceslapping the antagonist.

It's one of the first xianxia world that i had read. It's story flow to mechanism are superb. While the first stages are like any other xianxia worlds, around middle stage of the novel new power systems are introduced which makes the story more interesting.

Not sure why this is so lowly rated it's one of the best books in terms of power scaling in terms of adventure there's always something new happening and the MC is not too overpowered and he works hard to be stronger. A lot of people like the ones like RI which to me is just an edge Lord being a villain when this one actually has a heart and humanity.
