    This book finally answered what the hell it means to short something in the financial markets. (Crash of bitcoin chapter I think) Fantastic read just for the adventure, even though I don't understand the complex math stuff enough to judge.

      Understandable, shorting is a difficult concept to explain to others, it wasn't until the 4th or 5th different explanation that I finally got it

    I'm fond of this novel; it's excellent. Very interesting, sometimes heavy on the academic themes, but it's fascinating. Recommended if you want to read something related to a system, the academic world, scientific discoveries, and helping technological progress in all its branches, completing missions. It's very good.

    If you ignore the nationalism this is one of the best books on this site, the amount of research the author did for this novel, especially in the first half is the most out of any novel I've read.

      Is this a full-blown CCP nationalism kinda novel or more like the author's post-apocalyptic mansion kind of nationalism? There's another comment mentioning CCP, but going from "literally breaking off of mainland China to create my own sorta-but-not-really-China-country-so-its-totally-ok" to "I LOVE WINNIE THE POOH" would be kinda weird. EDIT: Reading more comments, ig it is a total CCP-fest after all...welp, skip.

    Spoiler free review till chapter 500: Good writing, author did a thorough research before working on it, interesting plot which is both exciting and motivating. It's sad that it's only written for Chinese audience in mind, the unnecessary amount of CCP propoganda, slight racism and "China is best" thingy is subtly visible throughout.

    To those who were stopped because of all the racism n patriotism comment, don't. The novel itself is not bad, plus the author really does a good chunk of research. Heck, I even learned some new stuff. Sure there's racism n patriotism here n there, but that's like not watching all the Marvel movies just because there's captain America. Overall 6.5/10 . A combination of education and lvl up system in a nutshell

      the difference is that captain America was American propaganda that turned into a critique of American propaganda and the "moral beacon" archetype, while the garbage in this book is nationalism for the sake of kissing up to whomever is in charge of giving more social credit. it has nothing to add, interrupts the story line, and generally just subtracts from the quality while being a nuisance that nobody wants.

      please enlightent me after the 1414 did the world found his body in the cryogenist ? thing or his body retrieved by xiao ai. then did the world recognize his identity as Lu Zhou or he need to start from the bottom. and also about chen yushan did they have happy ending. i already reach that 1414, and i will continue if he won't start from scratch after the sleep and a happy ending i don't want to ruin the novel impression if it was really bad

        A lot lol. Can't really list them all for spoiler reasons. Just know there's a lot of mathematics, n coding at the early stage of the novel. Most are just basic introduction tho, so you don't need to have any basic whatsoever

    Chauvinism put a bad taste in my mouth, but the academia/science setting is a little tempting... Edit: decided to read. First chapter shares similarities with a bad manhua I read in the past. Update: went to check the tag for any harem, thankfully there's not, though there is a romance subplot. Accidentally found the adapted to manhua, "oh no," i thought, went to check. "Yup, it's that one." It's the manhua I'm talking about previously (i think it's called Black Tech system or something). Decided to stay reading as bad adaptation also happened to lotm, so i don't judge too soon(I'm coping here). That adaptation is insane, the system has a girl avatar(there aren't any in the novel), and you guessed it, skimpy outfit. Just barely ch1 and I quit.

      Bro, thanks for commenting, I was doubtful about reading it, but when I researched the adaptation I discovered that I already read it and honestly it's rubbish and so I gave up.

    Typical chinese urban novel with tons of nationalism, at this point I don't think there's any novel without it in the urban genre for the translated ones.
