Super Gene (Web Novel)

Great story! lots of interesting characters! lots of background story/world building. And, of course, there's luck and plot armor aplenty!

At first it seemed like a promising novel with an interesting power system. However, the repeated use of plot armor and recycled situations made it increasingly boring as I progressed. by chapter 1000, it became a sunk cost fallacy, like why not finish it since I’d already come so far? The ending, for a novel of this length, was honestly one of the worst I’ve ever read. It was disappointing and felt shallow. That said, it’s a barely decent read if you’re bored or have nothing else to pick up. Personally, I think time could be spent more wisely. At the end of the day, this is just my opinion, so you can still give it a try and see for yourself

Many people have left some bad reviews for this novel. . . But this is actually a great novel. . . The powerup mc goes through. . . The family secrets and mysteries everything was amazing. . . More people should read this. . . I only started because I was reading the SuperGene manhua. . . then started the novel and finished it. . . This is a really good one and I highly recommend to it all my friends!!

The author wrote many cool abilities that were used only once. . many weapons long forgotten. . so many questions left unanswered. . I don't dislike this, I liked it a lot even, but it ended so abruptly that I was confused and demanding so many answers that I will never have

This was the first novels that I read, it got me into web novels although it was a bit of a slog to the end I still ended up rereading later. Although since then I have read better wn such as lotm and ss and I can definitely see it’s short comings but that doesn’t stop me from looking back and feeling nostalgic and remembering the enjoyment I got from reading this novel (even though it was like 3 years ago). Overall it’s a 6. 5/10 in terms of quality but it has some unique and interesting themes and I would definitely recommend it to newer readers if you are willing and to invest a lot of time. For me it’s a 10/10

The novel is okay, has poor pacing and drags out a lot of situations, then proceeds to info dump towards the end of an arc. I honestly could deal with this if the MC actually had power rather than being relegated to a side piece with one chapter where he is op and then gets relegated to cannon fodder for the next 200 chapters. Mc is also incredibly stupid at times, has the ability to actually learn a lot more skills and doesn't, gets distracted like a toddler crying about bumping their head and then locking onto something shiny, ignoring all the pain. The ending is cut off, you need to read a few chapters on another site to really understand precisely what happened, but it is also disappointing that half of the "monsters" just don't appear at all and instead join the peanut gallery. First half of the novel was "why isn't this a harem", second half is "why is mc completely useless and stupid". I sincerely hope the author actually improves, he actually has a pretty good imagination, but please allow the mc to actually show off all the power he has. All in all, I generally wouldn't recommend reading this unless you have a whole month to sit down and read it and there are far better novels anyways.

I'm writing this novel around the chapter 1300. I lasted this long because of people telling me that it will be good from chapter 1700 onward. But I really struggle to understand how can this bad writer can improve in a few hundred chapters? The story is just FULL of plot holes with an MC that's a total *d**t that keeps repeating his mistakes over and over without improving in anything. The only reason he survive most of the time is because of plot armor or stuff that fallen from the sky into his hands, he should have died at least hundred times and he still does the same sh*t over and over. He's also very stupid, he can learn things fast but he is not capable of making intelligent decisions EVER. Do not harm yourself and skip this, G3 is just a nostalgic recommending this novel, but DO NOT trust him. This is a world of pain you are trying to venture here

This was the first novel i read and it is still my favorite novel. I remember waiting for new chapter to come out when i started reading this but it was worth reading untill the end.

I'm gonna be completely honest, I have read quite a few novels for a few years now. And this has to be one of the worst ones. I have completed the novel. The author did put a lot of effort trying to make this novel evidently considering it has over 3400 chapters. The story goes from a sci fi novel to a cultivation novel. It was a good read until the 1000 chapters and then it's a drag. There's quite a lot of inconsistencies, most of which is because the author forgot something he said in the earlier chapters. The story does have repetitive elements, but it should be the least of your concerns. The author tried multiple ways to Nerf the mc, makes the mc choose stupid decisions (quite obviously making him seem like an *d**t) just to progress the plot. Usually I'm not the type of person who's nitpicking about the potholes since I'm dumb and just wants to spent some time reading. But this novel has very obvious potholes that even I can't ignore. The end of the story is even worse. It doesn't explain a lot of things in the end. Making a lot of unsolved mysteries remain unsolved. It would have been a good read if it was only around 1500 chapters but the author dragged it way too much. I would only suggest that you read this novel if you couldn't find any other novels as a last resort option.

This story is… something. I promise, it all feels worth it at the end of the day, as someone who read the whole thing, but it doesn’t really do much else other than some basic entertainment. The novel is quite enjoyable to read, but it just lacks the depth that other novels may include, however unfair it is to compare these. As for why this gets a 4 star, despite my comments, it’s kinda just that enjoyable. The novel feels like true progression of a character as opposed to the mc just being strong because why not as early as possible. Overall, yeah, 4/5. Lacks some depth, but the story is enjoyable overall.
