Even though it had its highs and lows, it's a good novel. There were parts I really enjoyed and others I didn't, but the plot as a whole is good. The ending, while not perfect, was one that held my attention. "

Its a good read and it lives to its title DARK KING literally lmao. Dark as Reverend Insanity. I mean he is twisted because of his environment. I like the development of the story but the downside is he always got captured by his enemies and become a experimental subject for them lmao

I loved the book to the around 600 when I dropped because this wasn't what I was expecting yes the mc becomes a god, yes he gets the strength, but at the end of the day what's the use of all this when there's no freedom bro is jus a tragic and demented mc at the end of the day carry a zombie due to his only remaining human nature 😂. It was fun while it lasted I hope the readers can enjoy the ending for me, because I don't have any interest in his pitiful role. Bro disappointed me, they will never be another fang yuan or leylin farlier and with this I encourage those with soft hearts to read the novel it's your ideal novel and learn from his naivety. The five stars is for half of the book

The story is based on a mediaeval setting then elevates to shi - fi. The story is very good in my opinion, some may not like the ending, but for me it was perfect because in the end the protagonist had a tragedy ending, but he was a God, It didn't really matter. The story was to highlight, Du dian's character. He became a God and his character became perfect. Therefore, the story ended.

The beginning was good and drawed me in, the story was interesting and developing nicely in a dark way. There was sufficiently relatable character development and the world building was intriguing. Then the content became more and more gruesome and repetitive. Halfway through the TL was getting outrageously worse so much so that I felt even the actual human translators had given up on it and gen1 translation software took over. The last fifth of the novel became, in my arguably personal opinion, stretched out contrieved drivel and the ending was way out of line. So much so that it requires an "Afterword" of the author to "explain" what apparently couldn't be transported in a stretched out 800 chapters novel. There a some people who seem to like it, I found it very difficult to finish. If I only read the first half of the book I would have rated it 4 stars, but after finishing I think 2. 5 stars is appropriate.

I rate this a 3. 4 b/c although the story is unique, the middle of this story's translation dives in a bad way, and while it does get better near the end, the names of characters and pronouns change quite a lot. If you don't mind the translation getting butchered later on and extreme tragedy, I'd recommend this. 🤓

It captures the extreme of human nature, closely similar to our reality. While I don't agree with the miserable picture it depicts, this work is a masterpiece. Although translation could be better, still I'm impressed.

The story is filled with plotholes and cliches that it's really difficult to read. The MC is a brilliant kid who's woken up after 300 years of hibernation. He's around the age of 7 or 8 at the story's beginning with a ridiculous understanding of history and science. He then becomes an architect/inventor, introducing products like the steam rifle and lightning rod without even reading about them on his super chip database. Introducing theories is one thing, but becoming an engineer and building inventions on first attempt without prior training is absurd. The translation sucks, I could barely get to chapter 600. Some chapters are just unreadable. This forced me to finish the latter half of the novel on other sites with better translations. Some plot points are forced as well. You sometimes get the feeling that the author didn't plan things ahead and just went with it as he was writing the story. The ending was not to my liking either. The MC becomes godlike and has successfully revived his GF who then kills the MC due to the memories implanted in her. She then kills herself, and the world is filled with aliens and alien worms which have resulted in the doom of humanity.

She wasn't able to kill him literally. But, yeah knowing that your only purpose of living wants to kill you even if the memories planted in her, were not accurate , they were not untrue either. The last chapter after that he is basically roaming the Universe , it did show that he had emotions left but for my fanon ending , I believe , that there is an emotionless God roaming the observable Universe doing nothing. He just exists leaving behind the meaningless small planet which birthed him.

The Dark King is a captivating blend of romance, fantasy, and heat that kept me glued to the pages. Here's why it deserves 5 stars: * **Compelling Characters:** Both the protagonist and the Dark King are complex and intriguing. The heroine is strong and independent, while the hero wrestles with darkness and desires. Their dynamic is electric, filled with tension and simmering attraction. * **Unique World-Building:** The fae world is vividly described, with hints of its magic and danger woven throughout the story. It feels fresh and exciting, leaving me wanting to explore more. * **Sizzling Romance:** The slow-burn enemies-to-lovers trope is masterfully executed. The tension builds beautifully, leading to passionate encounters that are both thrilling and emotional. * **Fast-Paced Plot:** The story never drags, constantly revealing new twists and challenges that keep you guessing. The cliffhanger ending leaves you desperate for the next book. If you're looking for a captivating read with a strong heroine, a compelling hero, and a touch of darkness, The Dark King is an absolute must-read!

Wow, it's one hell of a read. I started reading 2 or 3 years ago and read up to chapter 900 before stopping, and i decided to revisit from the begining and finish what I started. Super dark at times, but that's what you sign up for. There is a little to much tragedy for my personal tastes. I was expecting a small amount here and there. Perhaps a few heartbreaks. I was caught unawares. The book reads well the first 500ish chapters before translation quality and overall book quality starts diving. By 900+ you get hit with some bad chaps and the story line takes some odd twists. By chap 1150+ translation gets a bit better, but as far as story line goes you are just lost. I personaly wasn't a fan of the ending and finished it just because I had come that far. This is a unique book, and I don't think I will ever see somthing like it again. Dispite the caveats I still rate this a 5 star book, just for how well the first half of the book is done. I would love to see a better translation hit the market as reading quality would spike. Until then I'm on to the next book.
