As of chapter 89, I have literally yet to see our mc actually fight, and yet we have entered another fight scene with some other guy as the main fighter who we met just a couple of chapters back. I liked the system-less approach kinda, but then none of the fight scenes have explained how the guy fights, but only that he won the fight because of some xyz. Like even those two spars with the ghost members somehow tells me next to nothing at all in why his abilities can catch up to their speed. All in all a 5-6/10 I think the overall rating of this novel is too high.

The novel has a certain unique touch on how it develops, I currently just read chapter 13 and there are just a couple things I would like to share, this is no hate, I would just like to share my personal opinion. The MC's decision making makes sense, at the end of C13 he pointed out weakpoints of the NorthEast (NE) and possible solutions (not those I have pointed out in the next alinea's) Which I have to say, were pretty smart, but they are oblivious to the most concerning problem they are currently facing, shortage of troops The strategic part of the story is just completely unrealistic. Not one country in their right mind would put their military academy close to a battlefield, the reason is because the governement distributes a lot of money into those academies for their education, so they can do better than without it in the future. The northeast frontline situation is a complete mess, they are completely dependent on the center and not 1 higher up managed to think about checking how much a monster corpse sells for and they are being ripped off by the center. Aside from that, they are sending 9 to 13yo children to the frontlines for 6 years of "education". Which honestly, could be a good idea, but in this case it really is not due to 2 major reasons: - their actual inability to protect their first years from a bunch of weakest mobs in the entire Northeastern Front, when even the inexperienced first years are able to partly deal with it - the reason for them putting children on the front is not for field experience, but because they have a major lack of manpower because noone wants to go northeast due to the high mortality statistics. So they are 'forcing' 9yo inexperienced children to the front cause no adult wants to, they would only create a spiraling loop where young children die, and worsen the statistics which means others will drop in moral and wouldn't want to go NE. There are 4 categories in difficulty of monster types, and 7 frontlines, with every line closer to the front experiencing either more monsters, or stronger ones. Also, those 7 lines of defense doesn't disperse their severe lack of troops at all though, nooo. Not to mention how a force of mobs got through 6 lines of defense to attack the first years in a fortress, the system in itself is practically a sieve. I can think of 2 things why this happened: - either their defense system is so bad, they didn't even know - or their frontlines deliberatly let weaker monsters through so other lines of defense can "train", which is tactically seen a disaster because you give enemy monsters a chance to outflank you on EVERY line. Not to mention reinforcements are 3 hours away from eachother, which is a lot considering the fortress - furthest away from the front and facing the weakest monsters - couldn't protect their first year students for half an hour, they had to fight for themselves. Which also proves the incompetence of the defending knights and professors. They should perhaps make three lines of defense instead of 7, bring their troops together with a more solid line of defense rather than letting 90% of enemies go through it. Since they have shortage of men, they could retreat from the areas facing Drakes and the other strong ones, and go to the 3 closest to the center. Since monsters need to eat, if this was a realistic reality, they would probably eat eachother rather than go through other species' territory to eat on humans alone. Because they are certainly their only source of food income, right? However this is a game "reality" where monsters only eat humans, so I can look past those details, but bringing different lines of defense and condensing your troops to stronger and more solid lines would be way more effective than their current sieve system

It's is a good read. It's not special but still interesting. It's a little bit underrated. There is also no romance. But still like it as its my first military novel. Give it a try

I'm at ch 47. Interesting read. it's satisfying when the sole purpose MC pursuing always gone astray and worse keep going further away Lol in a good way ofc. I like academy arc the most right now, and I think start from 40+ ch it's getting boring but I hope the next few chapters will be good. (。ŏ_ŏ)

No but genuinely, we have no clue how he fights, no idea what his sparring with his father, the ghost captain, etc helped him in. How his swordsmanship can actually beat some one else's speed? For fight scenes it's easily one of the worst for a novel all about war

The part with advancing on the world tree is especially painful. The author glazes over all this so much he might as well say “MC was reborn, he was weak, he got strong, he got famous, he was smart and he saved the world”

The novel ends abruptly. The novel does not provide a satisfying conclusion to the main conflict or the romance subplot. The novel also does not explain some of the mysteries and secrets that were introduced in the story. The novel has a captivating plot, a likable protagonist, a rich world-building, and a lot of humor and heart.

Very very good novel. I think this one is insanely underrated. I love the story (I'm military academy enthusiast). The MC is great. It's just that the story is lacking in some points.

Very good novel. The main character knows how to take opportunities and use his knowledge of the future. The side characters are fleshed out. The world building is great. The plot is great. Overall, a great novel.
