Summary

The nuclear holocaust which caused the collapse of the Old Times on Earth should have wiped out all human life on the planet. Yes, the gods set up their beautiful Elysiums to provide sanctuaries for their chosen, but by all rights everyone outside the elysian lands should’ve perished long ago. Yet somehow, human life still managed to persist, even in the deadly, mutant-infested wastelands.

Cloudhawk was a young scavenger who dreamed of being as free as the hawks in the skies, yet seemed destined to live out his life scrounging for scraps in the wasteland ruins. Fate, however, is ever-fickle. A chance meeting with a ragtag group of mercenaries changed the trajectory of his life, bringing him into a world with mutants and metahumans, demonhunters and godslayers, and even gods and demons. Cloudhawk would find his own place in a world that was far greater than he had imagined, find his own path between the zealous light of Sumeru and the whispering darkness of the Abyss… and one day, he would find that even gods may fall.

People are too used to calculative mega intelligent mc's that don't feel anything when killing, this novel doesn't have that. The mc is naive, he starts out as a child, barely educated and with little contact to other people, of course he'd be a bit dumb, but he's very cunning. He is someone who's had to learn how to survive so he developed a habit of always putting his safety first. But despite that, he has a defiant will, he doesn't like when injustice happens in front of him so he still tries to help others even at his own detriment. There's so many comments throughout the chapters criticizing the mc for making dumb decisions, and yes they're a bit dumb sometimes, but thats part of what makes it good, the mc is stubborn, this entire world forces all men to be corrupted, to sin and to be selfish, but the mc isn't like that, internally the mc is always torn about putting himself first, something he learned to survive, or helping others, being good despite living in this mad world.

Love that sort of protagonists. It brings a deeply layered humanity to them, a psyche to explore and experiment with. No human is perfect, and in imperfection only do u find what that person actually is. Their philosophy, ideals, motives, thoughts, faith, and so many more things exist and most of the times, the writers don't even try to flesh them out. Just go with what is the most right in our world. That's why I enjoy Kill the Sun. But if the world was to really fall, our society disintegrated, then morality would as well. What would a person born there think and act like? Thanks for the summary of his persona.

Naa...i am dropping this..it might be a good story but not my type . No power system, full on tragedy all the time, too naive main character. Side characters might be smart but meh..

Well it doesn't have a typical power system that falls under the complete definition it sort of does have the relics and the mental energy being a power system. As for the ones in the wasteland I actually find it easy to understand. Low level metahuman- Cloudhawk after the bar fight Mid level metahuman- an elite guard or Cooke(the guy who was tortured by the rat king) High level metahuman- the likes of Slyfox, Mad dog and Artemis Highest level metahumans we've seen so far- the previous leader of Greenland outpost(Hydra) and Hellflower The following are mutants and Highest level meta abilities Stranger black- the tentacle and regeneration guy Long horn- The black bull that needed Artemis with a hammer to compete with 4th brother- who killed Wulf and launched an invasion on blackflag outpost. As long as you understand that there's gaps of power between guys in the same class then this is easy. So far most of Cloudhawk's enemies can be dealt with by Mad dog without too much worry.

Lol why isnt there a power system in this kind of novel? How tf do we know whats the gap between 2 people..? Author keeps writing this/that is stronger than mc but never tells by how much...tf is wrong with this system

You can make that spectrum in your head. No hate but this is a matter of imagination really... Cloudhawk and the sandbar still can't compete with any of Caliph's lieutenants but because he's Cloudhawk means he might find a way to win. The scaling hasn't changed much since the Queen's introduction really. Currently we only know one person stronger than her, Caliph and one that would match her for power, Academician Roste

Nope..this is something very important to a power novel and author should have done this. Anyway dropped this..too much misery in this novel.

Honestly, was my first novel and as I'm rereading it it's actually got very good language and grammar it actually feels like you're reading a book or novel. On the other hand, the plot gets a bit repetitive but for the first 4 or so arcs it's non-existent. Simply put, writing style is amazing, plot is amazing but can become a bit repetitive though it's only like that a really small amount. Your mc is a lower for a bit but his survival skills and personality are a lot like Sunny's from Shadow slave. Good novel

Am I wrong to assume this was inspired by genshin? "Sumeru" and "Abyss". Not read it yet

This is the dance from fortnite ! If you look at the updates you'll see that the story is older than genshin. Just impossible. But every story especially nowadays ressemble another one.

He found some kind of divine artifact that has insane amounts of potential and power and he's in dire need of a weapon like this but he decides to give it away for free to the stupid blood queen for literally nothing. Not to mention he for some reason tolerates the *d**t queen despite her being actually insufferable and distrusting even though he's saved her many times. He's also very naive and gullible

It sounds like you hate this "queen" rather than the MC. Would you have reacted so if he gave his artifact to another individual?
