Made it to chapter 1330 before stopping. Was a good read before chap 1000 but then took a nose dive. I have no idea if I’ve wasted my time or not. author is giving the antagonists plot armor just so the MC can struggle. Early chapters speak of this so-and-so characters being powerful that can help the MC but end up useless in front of new plots. And don’t get me started on this so called all-knowing emperor.

Hey hey hey so I wanna ask if this is worth reading??? I have trued reading it a few times like for 100 - 200 chapters but got distracted midway and just dropped. I really loved this novel tho...
Can anybody recommend me a war manga (close to) as good as this? Or at least similar to this? Preferably with a proper strategist MC. I've already read that one chess isekai, I dropped it after the prison arc tho. I've tried I Am The Monarch, dropped it around Ch 40.
He's a goody-two shoes. He over complicate the smallest of things, and the majority of it is nonsensical politics. Idek man. But I believe it has its charms.
The title of this novel is misleading, the mc is not the Emperor nor does he want to be an emperor . His a dog that's only loyal to the country and wants to be under some useless empire sage that knows only how to steal his sons girl. The novel never actually tells you that the emperor is incompetent, according to MC he's a dragon amongst men, the novel tries to say that there are mysterious reasons for why he doesn't do anything when his country is going to sh*t. But this is absurd, this is a time travel story! The country did go to sh*t in the previous timeline. No matter what his mysterious reasons are, we know it failed.
If you are into war stratagems or just armies fighting it out to see who is superior then this novel is for you. I personally love this one and hold fond memories as this was one of the first novels i read.
Story is entertaining enough but this author writes every single woman (as of 300 chapters) exactly the same. Powerful, entitled, lazy, and they all extort MC. MC just lets them extort him and basically gives every woman free benefits/items.
1st half is good. The English translation throughout the novel is good. But after 1000+ chapters the plot is completely destroyed, with enemies stronger than the 'subtle' realm begin to pop-up left and right. Only the MC has the strength to at least struggle, and his intellect took a nosedive that a principle of 'having strength makes might' that of which the MC has personally spread throughout the empire, he seems to forgot about it to apply to himself. The MC loves the Tang so much that he seems to forgot to exact revenge on the Prince's and his enemies both internal and external wherein he was threatened and his loved ones taken hostages. Overall 2.5/5. Only the translation is worth reading, not the plot.
