The Sword and The Shadow

I'm not sure why this novel has no reviews but it is an incredible hidden gem on this site. Story: 5/5 - the overarching story is really well done, there are many interesting plot twists hidden in the history of the world that you uncover with the protagonist - it can get a bit slow at times but there are virtually no filler chapters Romance: 4. 5/5 - the author does a really good job of keeping the romance exciting without stuffing in endless R scenes, and this novel has the most realistic depiction of a harem - that doesn't just magic away the tension between the women Protag: 3. 5-4/5 - probably the weakest aspect of the novel is the main protagonist - he's very often reliant on other people to win fights and get out of situations, but his character is really likeable and his flaws make him more human and relatable Style: no issues here Villains: some of the best, craftiest villains in the novels I've read - especially since they not just 2D punching bags - they all have their own complex motivations and drives that also sometimes makes them ally with the MC
