Omniscient First-Person’s Viewpoint
Chapter 340: Find The Difference!

The Regressor’s Chun-aeng surprisingly needed to be recharged.

After a battle, she had to gather the expended wind and space back into it again.

The principle behind it wasn’t clear, but the Regressor usually took a short break after a fight with that as an excuse.

While she left Chun-aeng to recharge, she came down from scouting atop the Golden Ark and entered the cabin, tidying her tousled hair as she spoke to Peru.

“Are we heading in the right direction? No one seems to be steering the Ark and it’s not just going in a straight line. It subtly shifts directions at times.”

“…The Golden Ark’s compass always points to the Golden Lord.”

“How is that possible?”

“…How?”

Peru looked flustered by the Regressor’s curiosity, trying to organize her thoughts.

「…The Golden Ark’s infinite tread uses transmutation travel. The closer it is to where the Golden Lord last stayed, the slower the transmutation speed becomes, causing that part of the tread to move more slowly. Thus, the stern of the Golden Ark tilts subtly toward the Golden Lord as it advances. When the Golden Lord’s current position becomes the focal point on the Fallen Dominion’s coordinates, adjustments are made in that direction, ultimately leading to the Golden Lord…」

She recalled everything in her mind.

Only in her mind, though.

「…But with my speaking skills, I can’t explain it all. Even if I did, would they understand? I give up.」

You won’t explain because you think they won’t understand?

Not sure if that’s humility or arrogance.

Regardless, Peru summarized her explanation briefly.

“…That too, is the majesty of the Golden Lord.”

“Oh, right, all the Juggernauts were made by the Golden Lord. I suppose something like this is possible.”

「…How did that work as an explanation?」

It wasn’t humility or arrogance.

It was a simple, accurate judgment.

The Regressor wasn’t one to understand how every Arcane in the world worked. Rather, she accepted that they simply did.

Satisfied, she shrugged off her coat and sat on the nearby sofa.

“Thanks for letting us stay, but are the facilities and space going to be okay?”

“…No problem. I just made them.”

“Oh, right. This is the Fallen Dominion. Got it. We’ll just stay for a bit….”

As she leaned back on the sofa, the Regressor’s gaze landed on the table in front of her.

It was like looking into a mirror.

Sitting across from her at the tea table was a girl identical to Tyr.

There, with long silver hair flowing down her back, both Tyr and ‘Tyr’ stared intently at the Regressor.

Two Tyrkanzyakas.

The Regressor finally realized something was wrong.

「Kyaaaaa! Wh-what the?! Why are there two Tyrkanzyakas?!」

She was stunned, though I was the only one who noticed.

The Regressor’s Qi Art, Heavenly Counter Domain, forcefully suppressed any sudden emotional upheaval and feigned calmness.

Even if caught off guard, if someone were to douse you with cold water and yell at you to think straight, you’d become composed in an instant.

Humans get flustered because no sane person would suddenly pour cold water on anyone.

However, the Heavenly Counter Domain essentially did just that and with it, the Regressor conjured up a hypothesis to explain the situation.

「Right! Hilde used her Transformation Art, didn’t she? One of them must be the Camarilla. Geez, I almost got tricked!」

Feigning composure, the Regressor spoke up.

“Is this the Camarilla’s Transformation Art?”

Outwardly, she didn’t appear surprised at all.

‘Tyr’ spoke with a voice full of annoyance between red lips.

“You just noticed? How dull can you be?”

“Your delayed reaction is so unenthusiastic. It makes this prank feel unrewarding.”

The two of them scolded the Regressor in perfect unison, like sisters teasing each other.

One had to be Hilde, but they were so synchronized that the Regressor snapped.

“Hey, I should be asking that! Why the sudden prank? What’s Hilde up to now?”

“There was talk of how exceptional Hilde’s Transformation Art was. It seemed worthwhile to test it since we are traveling together.”

“And to relieve the boredom of the journey. Is this not an excellent pastime?”

“To the one on the receiving end, it’s just a mean prank!”

Understanding the situation, the Regressor calmed down and began comparing Tyr and ‘Tyr.’

Silvery hair that seemed to glow faintly, a face so pale it seemed devoid of color, and eerily red eyes that gleamed wickedly.

Everything, down to their facial features and slender necklines, was identical.

The Regressor inwardly clicked her tongue.

「A master of Qi Art can control their entire body with Qi, but this is too much! There are limits to what you can do by compressing and reshaping bones! Changing skin color, hair, even voice? Why waste such a skill on pointless transformations?! If she properly used her Qi, she could be many times stronger!」

Well, what can you do about it?

Hilde’s motivation for mastering Qi Arts came from such transformations in the first place.

Without it, she wouldn’t have been able to grasp Gam Qi Arts.

Tyr, enjoying the Regressor’s reaction, spoke.

“So, can you tell who is who?”

“Take your time. After all, it is something we have plenty of.”

Both Tyr and ‘Tyr’ giggled at the sight of the perplexed Regressor.

She was irritated, but she couldn’t tell them apart just by looking and grumbling.

“It’s easy to tell who the real Tyrkanzyaka is. She uses Bloodcraft and controls darkness.”

“Of course, we agreed not to use such powers. If a task is too easy, there is no fun in doing it.”

“And I have to admit, Hilde is quite adept at Bloodcraft too. Look at this skin. How could she mimic such bloodless skin without knowing Bloodcraft?”

‘Tyr’ said, lightly touching Tyr’s cheek.

Tyr burst into laughter at the bold act and ‘Tyr’ propped her chin with a smug smile in response.

They seemed almost too friendly to be doppelgängers.

「I have no clue…! Even if it’s just their appearance, they sound and act so alike! Is it just acting?」

The Regressor’s mind was in disarray. The sudden dilemma was something Heavenly Counter Domain couldn’t solve, only adding to her confusion.

But instead of giving up, the Regressor’s stubbornness flared.

「No way. If I just give up and say “I don’t know,” I won’t be able to recognize the Camarilla in the next timeline. She’s the one who never showed herself in previous regressions. I’ll need to stop by the Military State every timeline anyway, so figuring this out now will help.」

Exactly.

This was her best chance to uncover Hilde’s tricks.

The Regressor pretended to wipe her brow, letting her fingers gleam as she activated her Seven Colored Eyes.

Resorting to this because she couldn’t figure it out otherwise—it was a small matter, but her earnestness made it amusing.

No way I’ll let that pass.

I leaned in and tattled.

“Mr. Shei, are you using your Seven Colored Eyes to cheat?”

“What? Why not? It’s part of my abilities!”

But there was a problem.

Whether viewing through heat-sensing Crimson Eyes or power-detecting Violet Eyes, the truth wouldn’t be revealed.

Looking at a Bloodcraft or Qi that was contained within a person with the Eyes was impossible. They could only see the visible energy.

The Regressor examined the energy through various lenses.

「There are differences between the Seven Colored Eyes. They’re distinct, but…!」

The issue was not knowing which one was real.

The Regressor didn’t memorize every piece of information about Tyr.

Moreover, Tyr had long fought the Sanctum and gained control over darkness itself.

This poorly matched with the Seven Colored Eyes, which observed light descending from the Sky.

Tsk, I warned her.

“I’m just worried. If you go to such lengths using the Seven Colored Eyes but still fail, wouldn’t it be more honorable to guess with intuition and be wrong?”

“Shut up! I’m almost there!”

“Be careful with that tone. What if you’re wrong?”

“You’re so smug, but what about you?”

“Who do you think I am? I can guess the face of a card with its back turned. Of course, I know.”

“That’s cheating!”

“Cheating is a legitimate skill. Who are you to talk with your eyes? Honestly, card tricks are much more honest than the Seven Colored Eyes.”

Well, it’s Mind Reading, technically.

No one knows that, so an undisclosed cheat is basically legal.

And aren’t those Eyes more of a cheat than reading minds?

If I had to choose between the Seven Colored Eyes and Mind Reading, I’d pick the former.

「He probably knows for sure. That means there’s a clue…」

After pondering, the Regressor made a suggestion.

“I want to ask just one thing.”

“Oh? You are going to find me with just one question?”

“This is finally getting interesting. Go ahead.”

The mood felt more like a quiz now, and Tyr seemed intrigued.

The Regressor gathered her thoughts as she stared at both.

「Tyrkanzyaka reclaimed her long-desired heart in the Abyss. The inside of the Abyss is a place even the Saintess couldn’t peer into, so the Camarilla might not know that fact. The real Tyrkanzyaka will know.」

“Do you know what Tyrkanzyaka’s wish is?”

It was a carefully considered question.

But ‘Tyr,’ smiling, asked.

“Who did you ask? Make it clear, so the other does not gain an advantage.”

“You, answer now!”

The Regressor pointed, and the chosen one replied with a slight smile.

“There is no wish. It has already been fulfilled.”

An answer so natural that it was impossible to tell if it was real or acting.

As she spoke calmly, her expression hardened as she continued.

“However… there is still something I want to do.”

Destroy the Sanctum.

She spoke with deep-seated anger.

The one with Tyr’s face spoke with a blank expression, but her voice was filled with fury.

“That is not a simple wish. It is my duty and my purpose. ‘I’ had to delay it due to my lack of power, but it is something I will surely do one day. I will pull down the Sky God and humiliate all his idols. This, I will never forget.”

From beginning to end, her pitch never faded.

Instead, her clenched fist and the low, seething voice radiated a deep-seated anger.

Only Tyrkanzyaka, the Progenitor of Vampires, could express such hatred towards the Sanctum.

Who else could harbor such rage?

The Regressor fell into thought, feeling conflicted.

「Sigh. I’m not part of the Sanctum, but… this is complicated. I’ll need their cooperation to stop the King of Sins… Ugh, I’ll think about that later.」

“Alright. Now that I know who the real Tyrkanzyaka is, stop the prank.”

“Did you figure it out?”

The other Tyr asked with a grin.

“Yeah. You’re the fake one, right?”

At the Regressor’s words, both Tyr and ‘Tyr’ smiled playfully.

Of course.

Would the Regressor be the Regressor without getting it wrong?

“Wrong. Mr. Shei, you’re incorrect.”

“Huh? What?”

「What’s this? She said there was no wish. Doesn’t that mean she regained her heart?」

That’s how they tricked her.

She never actually said she reclaimed her heart.

“Can’t you tell? The ‘Tyr’ you chose avoided giving a direct answer and focused on what she knew. She vaguely said there was no wish and then expressed hatred for the Sanctum. Even a child on the street knows vampires loathe the Church. What ‘Tyr’ said was impressive, but when you strip it down, she just said ‘I don’t know, but I hate the Sanctum!’”

“What do you mean? So, that ‘Tyr’ is Hilde?”

“Ding-dong! You guessed it! Father, I can’t fool you after all!”

‘Tyr’ jumped up and shouted.

The usually composed and silent figure now wore a mischievous smile on Tyr’s face, appearing different despite looking identical.

Hilde sighed in disappointment and grumbled.

“Hmm~ It was obvious Shei wouldn’t get it, but I just don’t know how to handle Father~”

“What do you mean, obvious?! I’ll get it right next time, for sure! Let’s go again!”

“That’s strange? Didn’t you say something similar last time~?”

“This time it will be different! I know your traits now!”

「I can definitely find her out with the Jade and Violet Eyes! Changing bodies reveals subtle inconsistencies. I got confused because it was Tyrkanzyaka, but next time, definitely!」

It’s not just overconfidence.

Looks like she really figured it out.

But you better be cautious.

Just as you’ve figured out Hilde, she’s also figuring you out.

Well, you can always regress, so there’s that.

“…Um, hold on.”

Meanwhile, Peru, who had been nervously fidgeting in a corner, covered her mouth in shock.

“…P-Progenitor? Did you say Progenitor? The Progenitor*?*”

Oh, did I not mention that?

That Tyr is the Progenitor, Tyrkanzyaka.

Might as well explain now. It’ll make the journey more comfortable later.

“Yes, that’s right. This is the Progenitor Tyrkanzyaka, who was sleeping at the bottom of Tantalus! She’s not just an ordinary vampire!”

“…Cough–”

- Thunk!

Oh. She fainted.

Well, it was a lot to take in.
